Almost everyone undergoes some type of health condition at some point in their lives. After seeking proper medical attention, few of them become chronic, while others fade away over time. The following are a few general health conditions to watch out for:
a) Gastroenteritis or Stomach flu
One of the most common causes of stomach flu is bacteria and viruses. Staying hydrated is important as it’s easy to feel dehydrated if there isn’t any food or water consumed.
A few symptoms of gastroenteritis are diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, nausea, headache.
b) Gastro-oesophageal reflux (GRED)
GRED occurs when the oesophageal sphincter weakens, allowing stomach contents to flow back into the oesophagus. As a result, you experience a burning sensation in your chest, which is also known as heartburn. A person might have difficulty swallowing.
c) Conjunctivitis or Pink eye
A conjunctivitis is an inflammation of the transparent membrane that lines your eyelids and part of your eyeball. Some possible causes are bacterial or viral infections, allergies to pollen or animal dander, and chemical irritants.
d) Diabetes
There are several types of diabetes, and their causes differ from one another. In any case, diabetes can result in excess blood sugar that can cause serious health problems regardless of the type of diabetes one has.
e) Cholesterol
There is a waxy substance called cholesterol in the blood. If the cholesterol levels are high it can increase the risk of heart disease. High cholesterol does not have any symptoms, and it can only be detected through blood tests.
f) Migraine
Migraines are headaches that typically affect one side of the brain and cause throbbing pain or pulsing sensations. Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, and extreme light or sound sensitivity.
g) Obesity
Excessive amounts of body fat is called obesity. As a result, there are a number of diseases and health problems associated with it, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and others.
h) Appendicitis
Inflammation of the appendix is called appendicitis, and it occurs on the lower right side of the abdomen. There is pain in the lower right abdomen as a result. Usually, the pain begins around the navel and gradually spreads.
i) Hypertension
Hypertension is a condition affecting the arteries that causes high blood pressure. In people with high blood pressure, the heart has to work harder to pump blood. The high blood pressure is usually not accompanied by any symptoms.
j) Thyroid
If the body produces too much thyroid hormone, it might develop hyperthyroidism, and if it produces too little thyroid hormone, it might develop hypothyroidism. An individual with an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) may experience anxiety, irritability, vision problems, muscle weakness, tremors, and weight loss. Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) can cause weight gain, hoarse voice, fatigue, dry or coarse voice, and more.
An individual should seek immediate treatment if they experience any of the above-mentioned symptoms.
